Smart DVR Viewer, which is the next-generation network DVR solution of AddPac, is multi-channel video surveillance software that operates in a PC platform environment based on Microsoft Windows. The network DVR solution of AddPac is configured with Network Camera based on MPEG-4, DVR Server for video recording and streaming, Live Displayer for multi-channel live video display, PC-based Smart DVR Viewer for live video and archive video display, and Smart DVR Manager for network DVR management.
Dual-Bit Stream Based on MPEG-4
AddPac Network Camera has both of the MPEG-4-based dual-bit stream structure and single-bit stream structure. If the network bandwidth is high enough, a dual-bit stream can be used. A dual-bit stream based on MPEG-4 means a video bit stream for live video display and one for video recording. The video bit stream for video recording encodes video to be at a low frame rate and high resolution, while live video display encodes video to be at low resolution and a high frame rate. AddPac Network Camera encodes video data by using two MPEG-4 encoders, and transmits dual video stream for live display and recording to DVR Server using Real-Time Transport Protocol (RTP).
AddPac Smart DVR Viewer receives a live video bit stream from DVR Server under TCP/IP, which is a transmission protocol, and decodes the stream to display it on the screen.
Live Video Surveillance
Smart DVR Viewer can display the MPEG4-based multi-channel live video bit stream received from up to 16 network cameras on the TCP/IP reception, MPEG4 decoding, and Windows screens. Since Smart DVR Viewer is designed based on Microsoft Windows, it can adjust the size of the entire screen variably, and allows you to enable the surveillance node of the network camera by dragging the list of live video cameras at the left of the screen.
DVR Saving Video Player
Smart DVR Viewer enables the separate archive video saved in DVR Server to play back. Smart DVR Viewer provides a player that allows you to decode the daily and hourly media files saved in each network camera. The archive video player of Smart DVR Viewer displays detailed information of the network camera such as the bandwidth, frame rate, and video resolution. The archive video player supports the window skip, slow forward (1/4x or 1/2x), and fast forward (2x, 4x, or 8x) features as well as jog shuttle for better surveillance.
Various Screen Layout Features
Smart DVR Viewer supports various window layout features, and supports a 4-party screen, 8-party screen, 16-party screen, and several main screen modes. You can adjust the size of a display screen by using the mouse at the bottom right of the screen. Also, you can display the control panel along with DVR video at the top and left of the screen optionally.
Remote Pan/Tilt/Zoom Camera Control
Smart DVR Viewer performs Pan/Tilt/Zoom control to each network camera. Smart DVR Viewer can also support brightness control, mirroring, and reset as well by selecting a screen for a specific network camera of Smart DVR Viewer through the control of Smart DVR Manager. A control mechanism through RS-232C/RS422/RS485 depending on camera types is customized easily at each customer site.
Login and Password Authentication
Smart DVR Viewer supports a feature that allows you to prevent unauthorized users from using the DVR program through login and password authentication when the program starts.
Configuration Saving and Restoration
Smart DVR Viewer supports the configuration saving and restoration features that allow you to view the last settings when the program is used again or restarts by saving the registration information and settings of your network camera automatically when the program is used.
Audio Play
Smart DVR Viewer can play back the audio transmitted from the network camera as well video. Smart DVR Viewer enables audio at a site as well as live or recorded video to play back. An audio codec supports G.711 and G.726. You can select a channel to hear a natural sound.
Snapshot
Smart DVR Viewer snapshots DVR video, and enables video to be saved in the form of a bitmap (.bmp) file when live or recorded video plays back. The saved .bmp file can be printed by using a color printer.
Video Error Concealment
Network DVR Solution is available in a variety of Internet environments such as IP-based dedicated lines, DSL, ATM, frame relay, and satellite networks. The Internet can have different QoS (e.g. packet loss and jitter) depending on the network attributes. For instance, the QoS (jitter and packet loss) of a satellite network may be lower than that of other networks. In such a case, the video compressed into Variable Length Coding (VLC) may be degraded severely if a packet is lost. A video codec (e.g. MPEG-4) whose compression rate is high may be degraded more severely if a packet is lost. The error concealment feature prevents the screen from being degraded even if a video packet is lost. This feature is optional.
