AP-UMS1000 of AddPac Technology is a network based UMS (unified messaging system) based on the advanced next-generation all IP networks. This product together with IP-PBX, IP end-point terminals (VoIP gateways, IP video phones, IP phones, etc) can be used for network based unified messaging service like as IP phone voice mailing service, video mailing service for video phone, E-mail notification, etc.
Under Next Generation IP Telephony Network Environment, AP-UMS1000 network unified messaging system is applicable to government offices, medium-to-large enterprise, public enterprise, military, local government that want to dedicated powerful messaging service more than basic IP-PBX internal messaging service. AP-UMS1000 is configured with 2-port 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit interfaces, two (2) IDE-type 3.5-inch HDD module slots, and enables RAID1 configuration.

Embedded Network Unified Messaging System
AP-UMS1000 is a leading-edge network equipment where the high performance CPU module designed and developed by AddPac is combined with embedded OS and hardware to provide IP-based media services. An advanced embedded RISC processor and a reliable embedded OS that support Gigabit Ethernet are used for this product to ensure better performance and efficiency. AP-UMS1000 provides Dual (2) Redundancy RAID1 IDE-type 3.5-inch HDD modules. A HDD module of AP-UMS1000 supports the push-button type Hot-Swap feature to support Hard Disk module change in service.
IP based Voice/Video Mailing Service
AP-UMS1000 unified messaging server together with AddPac Technology’s IP Telephony Solution can be used for network based unified messaging service like as IP phone voice mailing service, video mailing service for IP video phone, E-mail notification, and web based Mailbox browsing service, etc. Basically, this system supports SIP VoIP signaling and IVR scenario managing tool for voice/video message recording/retrieval. Using VXML based IVR scenario editor software (AddPac Technology provided), user can make new IVR scenario and edit the pre-existed IVR scenario for new service addition, service modification, etc. AP-UMS1000 supports memory (HDD, etc) Quota functions for each user’s voice/video mailbox, etc and e-mail notification function via internet. On business travel, user can monitor IP phone or video phone’s leaving message in office via internet e-mail check and using MS window media player software. Also, user can play voice/video message under various environments such as PSTN phone via VoIP gateway, E-mail, Web, Smart Messenger (AddPac) in addition to IP terminals (IP phone, IP video phone).

Since the high-performance RISC processor modules installed into AP-UMS1000 are all programmable, the features of AP-UMS1000 can continue to be improved, changed, or added. You can flexibly adapt to future technology evolution. If you download an added or changed feature from the home page directly or set an automatic upgrade option whenever feature addition or change is done, you can use the latest feature without further operations.
USB Interface Supported (For Secondary Memory Backup)
The front panel of AP-UMS1000 has the USB 2.0 master mode interface. This interface supports USB DVD/CD Reader/Writer, USB Flash memory, USB hard disks, USB keyboards, and USB mouse. You can connect several USB devices to one another by connecting this interface to the USB hub. A separate power supply device should be used for a USB device that requires much power consumption. A DVR application uses the USB DVD storage device to back up video data of the hard disk in DVD.
Various Network Features and Advanced QoS Feature
AP-UMS1000 supports the latest features and advanced services ranging from the ones (e.g. a variety of network protocols, better Quality of Service (QoS), and the error concealment technology) specialized for an environment for video communication services to the Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) service for preventing a failure and load balancing. Accordingly, AP-UMS1000 can address various issues that may occur depending on network environments.
Transcoding Module for supporting Multi-Voice Codec (Option)
AP-UMS1000 IP unified messaging system provides voice transcoding (for example, G.711 → G.723.1, G.711 → G.729, etc) service for high quality voice mailing service using high performance DSPs. To solve the codec mismatching problem under IP telephony environments between message leaving IP terminal and retrieval IP terminal, voice transcoding service is necessary. For example, IP phone records voice mail into unified messaging system using voice codec like as G.729, voice transcoding service is used when user want to play the voice mail using soft phone that only supports G.711 voice codec. To support low bit rate voice codec such as G.723.1, G.729, AP-UMS1000 IP unified messaging system provides the Voice Transcoding H/W module optionally. A Voice Transcoding Hardware Module supports maximum 60 channel concurrent Voice Transcoding. Accordingly, AP-UMS1000 can address various issues that may occur depending on network environments.
