As high-speed Internet networks such as ADSL, VDSL, and FTTH have evolved into Broadband convergence Networks (BcNs), IP-based VoIP equipments such as IP phones are increasingly getting popular and are developing as an alternative voice communication network to the traditional PSTN. Both PSTN and the All-IP-based Internet VoIP telephone network are expected to evolve into a broadband integrated IP network gradually as the two networks continue to coexist.
In the voice recording field, there is an increasing demand on voice recording solutions that work in the architecture where PSTN coexists with IP phone networks. The next-generation voice recording solution should be able to perform voice recording on Voice over IP (VoIP)-based IP phone networks as well as on PSTN.
The AP-VRPP solution of AddPac is not a simple voice recording solution on a node but a next-generation voice recording solution that provides services along with various IP-based VoIP devices of AddPac (e.g. analog/digital VoIP gateway, IP phones, and IP-PBX) and that supports a total voice recording service architecture on a broadband integrated IP network.
The voice recording solution of AddPac is configured with AP-NR1000, which are voice recording servers, an IP phone-based media player, a voice recording manager, and voice recording endpoint equipments. The voice recording end-point equipments, which are configured with a variety of AddPac VoIP terminals such as IP phones, the VoIP gateway, and IP-PBX, collect IP-based voice data and transfer them to the recording server. The AddPac VoIP devices used for the AP-VRPP voice recording solution are equipped with RISC CPU and programmable DSP, and can be upgraded by continuous software development and feature addition to meet various customer needs and environment requirements. Also, the devices are available in next-generation networking environments such as IPv6.
Hardware-Type High Performance Embedded Voice Recording Server
AddPac Voice Recording Server AP-NR1000 is configured with two Gigabit Ethernet interfaces, the RS-232C console for equipment management, and two 3.5-inch HDD slot interfaces that enable RAID1 configuration. Embedded voice recording servers of AddPac save and manage the compressed voice signals transmitted from end point equipments, and transmit the signals to the media player for playback. The hard disk supports IDEs, and RAID1 is supported for the redundancy of the hard disk. Also, a hot swap based on push buttons is supported to replace the hard disk with a new one while the recording server remains in operation. The voice recording servers of AddPac enable MS Windows-based network sharing for backup through secondary storage media (e.g. DVD).
Media Player for Voice Recording Playback
AddPac Media Player for voice recording playback uses AP-IP500 as the standard model to support a variety of voice and video codecs. AddPac Media Player decodes the compressed voice and video data transferred from the recording server through the speaker, headset, or handset interface of AP-IP500, and allows you to listen to or watch the voice or video played. AddPac Media Player can also play back various voice codecs such as G.711, G726, G.723.1, and G.729 and video codecs such as H.263, MPEG4, H.264, and JPEG, and is used as an IP VoD phone typically. In addition, this product supports two Fast Ethernets and the RS-232C console port as well as shortcut keys and a large-screen LCD. AddPac Media Player uses a high-performance RISC microprocessor and a high-performance DSP to play back high-quality voice/video in real-time.
Firmware Upgrade Ensured
The components of the AP-VRPP voice recording solution, which are the AP-NR1000 voice recording servers, IP phone-based media player, and voice recording endpoint equipments, as well as the high-performance system RISC CPU and DSP are all programmable; thus, the features of AP-VRPP can continue to be improved, changed, or added. If you download an added or changed feature from the home page directly or set an automatic upgrade option whenever feature addition or change is done, you can use the latest feature without further operations.
Simultaneous Support to Multi-Codec
AddPac AP-VRPP uses an advanced high-performance DSP to provide the real-time voice recording solution of higher quality compared to the traditional solutions based on high performance and reliability. The voice recording data compressed or captured by an endpoint equipment through G.711, G726, G.723.1, or G.729 are transferred and saved in the recording server. Then, you can listen to the voice played through the speaker, headset, or handset of AP-IP500 Media Player.
