AddPac Technology introduces the innovative and next generation IP video broadcasting solution that securely integrates video, audio and other collaborative data applications. This solution provides the excellent performance for video application such as high-quality network video broadcasting application. The video broadcasting solution of AddPac Technology consists of two system parts. One is high performance embedded system based broadcasting server, AP5850, for video encoding, video transmission, and storing. It is usually located at centralized broadcasting place, head office or studio. The other parts are video edge equipment such as AddPac Technology's video service routers, video gateways, video phones, etc. These systems generally are located at remote site.
Hardware type, High-performance Video Broadcasting System
The video broadcasting server, AP5850, is specialized in the effective use of broadband multimedia network applications by placing A/V(Audio/Video) modules such as HIM-AV1000 on its multi-media slot, then the head office is able to send IP based multicast or unicast type audio or video broadcasting data to its branch offices using AP5850 video broadcasting server. The video broadcasting terminals are the IP based video codec equipments such as AP-VR2000, AP-VR1000, AP-VR800, AP-VG1000, AP-VP300.
The video solution of AddPac Technology is designed to offer the real-time video processing based on embedded technology such as RTOS(real-time OS), PowerPC CPU, and High-End DSP. HIM-AV1000, Audio/Video module, built on AP5850 is a high-performance TI DSP based hardware codec enabling real-time video encoding/decoding of analog video/audio source. The broadcasting server supports maximum 30 fps VGA (640¡¿480) based on the MPEG-4 and it is capable of controlling frame rate and bit rate according to the network availability. Video codec H.263, MPEG-4, H.264 are supported in AP5850. H.264 is an advanced video codec offers twice as higher performance than MPEG-4.

The pre-existing VOD solutions are PC based Store & Forward systems which are not good enough for real-time live video processing and application. AddPac's IP broadcasting solution provides the real-time live video broadcasting and communication using the high-end DSP based video technology. For example, it is possible to send live TV signal, or DVD player output signal to video terminal in remote site via Internet such as xDSL, leased line, ATM network. In this case, the video broadcasting server is operated as a high resolution (VGA, 30fps) IP based live video encoder and broadcasting terminal is operated as a live video decoder.
Cutting-edge Solution - Broadcasting from a terminal
One of the best features of AddPac's Broadcasting solution is that video and voice signals can be broadcasted from server to terminal and from terminal to terminal at the same time. In case video broadcasting terminal is video source such as terminal to terminal broadcasting service, video terminal located in edge remote side can broadcast the encoded video signal to other video terminals via broadcasting server.
Another outstanding feature is that each video broadcasting terminal supports video relay function and video broadcasting terminal function at same time. This video relay function in local area network can reduce the network traffic in WAN (wide area network) section. The video relay capacity supported in video broadcasting terminal is approximately under five video terminals at maximum. The video broadcasting terminals of AddPac Technology support the two Fast Ethernet (10/100M) ports for video relay function in high speed local area network.
When encoded video signal is broadcasted to several video terminals in LAN via wide area network, defining one terminal, an AP-VR2000 as a relay server, will reduce network traffic in WAN section. Instead of sending video signals to several channels, it utilizes only a single channel for traffic generation.

The AP-AV1000 is the network module of AP-VR2000 and AP-VR1000 video service router. The AP-AV1000 is a modular type; it is therefore flexible for different user requirements. Customers can selectively choose to have only video or video and audio features by simply changing network modules for their needs.
The core components of the AddPac video broadcasting solution, the AP5850 and the AP-VR2000 support various WAN mediums such as multi port V.35 serial interface, 45/155Mbps ATM module, POS module and protocols concurrently for configuring a specialized video communication network environment. This allows for unprecedented service flexibility as well as high quality video communication in one platform without additional investment costs.
Multicasting and Advanced QoS features
AddPac's IP Video broadcasting solution not only provides services such as IGMP Multicast protocol, advanced QoS(Quality of Service) and error concealment for the IP broadcasting environment but also offers advanced features such as VRRP (Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol) for load balancing and system failure prevent. AP5850
IP Video Broadcasting Server. The AP5850 sends the real time video streams
to various video broadcasting terminals such as the AP-VR2000 or the
AP-VR1000. The AP5850 can control these terminals and various broadcast
services using PC based GUI management tool.

AP-VR2000
Video Service Router. The AP-VR2000 is equipped with an Ethernet interface
and two (2) multimedia slots for various WAN interfaces and video codec
modules. It provides excellent routing service in a WAN network environment.
It is usually located at a head office or branch offices as a broadcasting
terminal. Through the video broadcasting server, an AP5850 in a head office,
the AP-VR2000 transfers the real time video source to other terminals. Its
relay function enables real time broadcasting while minimizing transmission
and processing delay.

AP-VR1000
The AP-VR1000 receives video signals from the AP5850. It is usually located
at branch offices. It also is enabled to send encoded video signals from
camera(or video input) to the AP5850 or network DVR system in a head office.
The AP-VR1000 has one multimedia slot for various video/audio codec modules.

AP-AV1000
The AP-AV1000 is the high-performance, DSP based Video Codec Module of the
AP-VR1000. It is equipped with one channel BNC or RCA Video I/O Interface,
3.5mm Audio Interface and RS422/RS232 Control Interfaces.

AP-VP300
The AP-VP300 is an IP video telephony equipped with built in "7 inch
LCD monitor and camera. It can be operated as a normal IP video telephone as
well as IP video broadcasting terminal.

AP-PSB
The AP-PSB is a power control system. It controls Amp or TV power in remote
terminals that are connected to the broadcasting server.

AP-VBMS
The AP-VBMS is an IP Video Broadcasting management program based on JAVA. It
is installed in a broadcasting server enabling broadcast status monitoring,
scheduling, login management and remote system management. This program
supports the server-client architecture.
