Smart DVR Network Management System(NMS) is the software that manages IP Camera, video encoders/decoders, network DVR servers, standalone DVR servers, video routers and others systematically.
Smart DVR NMS is configured with Linux and web-based Client software and it is the software that supports the features of Network Resource Management, Device Fault Management, Device Fault History Management, Device Status Management, Fault Notification Management, Device Fault Statistics, Device Model & Service Management.
Server-Client Smart NMS Architecture
Smart NMS Server uses Smart NMS RHEL(Redhat Enterprise Linux) 5.0 or higher version of Linux OS and JRE(Java Runtime Environment) 1.5.1 or higher for application software and PostgreSQL 8.1.11 for database. Smart DVR NMS Client operates from Window XP, Vista, Window Server and uses Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher version of Web browser to access Smart NMS Server and provide NMS service features. Client has been designed to check the software version automatically when it is connected to web and performs the software upgrade. UI has been designed for easy-to-use.
Network Resource Management Structure for Medium and Large Sites
Smart DVR NMS has been designed in hierarchical structure for a large site application. The devices installed in a site can be registered by each category (ie, IP camera, Video Coedc, NDVR Streaming Server, Recording Server, Live Displayer, etc) as a list. Smart DVR NMS has been designed for multiple administrators to manage the overall network configuration dispersedly, by assigning each administrator to the site in hierarchical structure. Smart DVR NMS also executes the management/ configuration program of each device unit (ie.: bringing out directly- Video Codec configuration program) and provides not only fault management, but also system configuration of the device to be managed in network.
Device Fault Management
Device Fault Management is one of the core features of Smart NMS. The main screen of Smart NMS program displays the data related to Device Fault and the fault device in tree structure. This feature also reports the system administrator the detailed fault information such as 24 hour availability.
Device Fault History Management
Device Fault History Management supports the both of daily fault and detail fault event history in Smart NMS. This feature provides a note for each fault event and the administrator provides a feature to search fault history.
Device Status Information Display
Smart DVR NMS provides Device Status Information Display including Device Service Status (Up/Down), Device Major Status, Graphical Information Display for the system performance.
Fault Event Notificationy
Fault Event Notification notifies an event major device fault such as Critical Device Fault to the system administrator. The channel for Fault Event Notification can be either SMS or E-mail or Alarm Lamp. Fault Event Notification has 2 types of mode. One is the audible mode for playing sound only and the visible mode is the other that provides visible information in addition to sound, by flashing lights.
